The 6th Annual Dance Ohio 5 Conference took place this year at Oberlin College on Saturday Feb. 23, 2019 from 9:30 am - 7:00 pm, with over 60 students and faculty in attendance. This year marked the start of the second round of hosting, which is rotated among the five Ohio colleges each year. Oberlin hosted the inaugural event in 2014. This one-day dance conference brings together dance students and faculty from the Ohio Five group (Kenyon, Denison, Oberlin, Ohio Wesleyan and Wooster) to share work, exchange ideas, and become acquainted as colleagues. These annual events nurture collaboration, help develop stronger relationships that foster closer ties, and increase the possibility of resource sharing. This unique opportunity is sponsored by the Five Colleges of Ohio, Inc., and is free to all students and faculty. Students and faculty take dance classes taught by Ohio 5 faculty and guest artists, see each other’s choreographic work, engage in discussions, and share meals. Denison University, Department of Dance will host the 2020 conference as part of the opening celebration for the Eisner Center for the Performing Arts.
