Congratulations to our very own Abigail Engler ‘25, who has been awarded the Barry Goldwater Scholarship, one of the most prestigious undergraduate awards for STEM students.
Abigail is a biochemistry major and university Anderson Scholar from Charlottesville, Va. She has conducted research on campus with mentors Christine Weingart and Cassandra Zaremba and completed a summer research internship as an AMGEN Scholar at Duke University. She intends to pursue a Ph.D. in organic or medicinal chemistry to conduct pharmaceutical research developing drugs to treat antibiotic resistant bacteria.
Abigail is Denison’s seventh Goldwater Scholar since 2006. Nominations for the Goldwater Scholarship and other prestigious fellowships are managed by the Lisska Center for Intellectual Engagement.
