Arts in Columbus
A Thriving Arts Community
Denison is one of the few national liberal arts colleges that is closely connected to an extraordinary metropolitan region that is ranked as one of the best places in the country for Millennials and also boasts a thriving creative arts community.
Columbus offers Denison students all of that, and more. And since it's only a short drive or shuttle ride from campus, Columbus provides countless learning and internship opportunities for students in the arts, as well as premier artistic and cultural events.
Two of the key arts organizations in our area are CAPA and the Greater Columbus Arts Council (GCAC). CAPA is a nonprofit, award-winning presenter of national and international performing arts and entertainment. It also owns and operates the historic Ohio, Palace, and Southern theatres, as well as manages the Riffe Center Theatre Complex and the Lincoln Theatre. The GCAC provides funding for and helps to spread the word about Columbus artists and arts organizations.
